BREATHING

NEW TOWN SQUARE, LIDKÖPING, 2020. Porcelain, painted concrete wall.

Two rhythmic and dynamic ceramic compositions cover the long sides of the substation on Lidköping square. An energy or concentration is created on the walls, slowly becoming more dense or easing.  Fields of tension are formed over the surfaces, like a soft pulse or wave movement.

The shiny angled surfaces lead the visual experience to change depending on where you are.  Walking along the building, the shift is gradual and the displacement can be followed as a movement.  The two walls are opposites, yet interacting. The graphic structure of the design pattern is the same for both walls - but reversed. This also applies to the colour and brightness schemes.  The two walls mirror each other whilst at the same time being opposites.
